The Bush Hotel Farnham has been brought to market for offers in excess of £12m by way of a company share transfer.
The hotel has recently been the subject of an “extensive” investment and refurbishment programme.
Comprising 95 en-suite guest bedrooms and extensive public areas as well as a dedicated business/banqueting centre, the Grade II listed, 17th Century four-star country house hotel is located within the centre of Farnham, Surrey.
With views of Farnham’s Georgian architecture and the Surrey countryside, the town benefits from a high volume of visitors throughout the year.
The hotel is said to appeal to both corporate and leisure visitors, with weddings and events generating “highly profitable” trading results. The property also provides branding and asset management opportunities as well as an investment portfolio producing an annual income of around £60,000 from three adjoining retail units.
The site also has several implemented planning permissions for further improvements, including the potential for extension to increase the number of bedrooms to 132 and a ground floor orangery with capacity for 100 people.
Knight Frank and Simon Stevens Associates, an independent hotel brokerage firm, have been exclusively appointed as the joint selling agents.
Matthew Smith, partner at Knight Frank, said: “As the only independent hotel of scale in Farnham, a new owner will benefit from the hotel’s strong industry reputation, high customer satisfaction and financial performance, with the potential for further expansion.
“As well as benefitting from a high profile, the property’s easy access to London, the Surrey Hills, Farnham Business Park, and sporting venues like Ascot and Goodwood, allows The Bush Hotel Farnham to serve as a year-round venue for guests and events.”
Simon Stevens, director at Simon Stevens Associates, added: “As an AA recognised and recently refurbished landmark hotel in the heart of Farnham’s market district, The Bush Hotel presents a unique opportunity to acquire a prime town centre site hotel where the bedrooms enjoy such an oasis of calm along with a large car park for its central location.”
