Budget hotel group Bloc has announced the extension of its original Birmingham site with a group of apart-rooms.
The extension, which is aimed at the long-stay business traveller, will see the introduction of 30 apart-rooms to the Bloc Birmingham site, a communal courtyard and glass walkways from the existing building.
The firm said in a statement: “Apart-rooms will be ideal for contract workers spending longer periods in the city, providing a higher level of comfort and luxurious facilities such as a kitchenette, dining and lounge areas and a full-size desk.”
Rob Morgan, managing director of Bloc, said: “Once again Bloc is proud to announce an innovative first in its approach to the hospitality industry, which is born in Birmingham. We are excited to combine short-stay accommodation with longer-term usage serviced apart-rooms branded ‘Apartment Bloc’.”
A spokesperson for brand, which launched in 2011, said that it has a “very ambitious” expansion plan is in advanced discussions regarding a number of “high profile sites” with a focus on city centre locations and transport hubs.
