In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Broadway Park Hotel in Sandown has been sold to Caledonian Leisure, which has added the site to its growing hotel collection.

The 106-bedroom property, dating back to 1870, was originally built as a family home and has operated as a hotel since the early 1960s.

It includes a ballroom, lounges, restaurant and landscaped grounds.

Caledonian Leisure said the hotel would join its portfolio under the name Caledonian Island Hotel.

The sale marks the final disposal from a portfolio of 33 Coast and Country Hotels, comprising 2,664 bedrooms across the UK. The properties have been acquired by a range of regional, national and international buyers.

Christie and Co, the business property adviser handling the disposals, managed the sale process.

David McDonald, finance director at Caledonian Leisure, said: “We are delighted to welcome the newly renamed Caledonian Island Hotel to our growing Caledonian Hotel Collection. We would like to thank Jeremy and the wider Christie and Co team for their support as we acquire our sixth hotel, all acquired with Christie and Co.”
