Point A Hotels is set to open its newest Scottish property, Point A Edinburgh St Andrew Square, in summer 2026.

The 206-room hotel occupies a landmark Category A listed building at St Andrew Square, with views across the gardens, Edinburgh Castle and the New Town. The hotel is near Waverley Station, the bus station and Edinburgh’s prime retail and leisure districts.

The hotel features 148 double rooms and 58 twin rooms arranged across six floors, and facilities include a bar and breakfast area, luggage store and a communal ironing room.

The interior design has been led by Leisure Concepts, with Maith Design appointed as project architect. They worked to balance contemporary hospitality design with the building’s historic and architectural significance.

Originally designed by Sir Basil Spence, the property retains several notable listed features. The redevelopment includes the restoration of its original helix staircase and a stainless-steel lift shaft, as well as full-height marble and granite wall cladding.

Internally, the hotel follows Point A’s latest Gen 5 design concept. The scheme incorporates the Danish principle of ‘Hygge’ to focus on guest comfort and functional layouts. Sustainability has also been a key focus of the redevelopment. Heating, cooling and hot water will be provided through high-efficiency air source heat pumps.

Nic Wenn, managing director at Point A Hotels, said: “Edinburgh remains one of the UK’s most dynamic hotel markets and St Andrew Square is one of the city’s most sought-after locations. We have been presented in Edinburgh since 2019 and we are delighted to be launching our second Hotel in such a great location in the City.”
