The Berkeley in Knightsbridge has introduced a signature cocktail collection inspired by local landmarks and residents located within the SW1 postcode.
The new menu, entitled SW1 Sips, features 10 signature drinks and was created by bars manager Marcello Cauda. The selection references local institutions including the Royal Court Theatre and the Grenadier pub.
The menu includes drinks named after local figures, such as Anya Hindmarch, whose Anya Sgroppino cocktail was inspired by the designer and her flagship Village on Pont Street, and is served with a leather coaster featuring her brand’s signature googly eyes.
Other local figures who inspired drinks include author Ian Fleming and costume designer Stewart Parvin.
The launch coincides with an updated food menu at the bar, which features a new lobster and truffle pizza, alongside toasties and hot dogs.
The Berkeley Bar and Terrace was designed by Bryan O’Sullivan and opened in 2019. The space includes an outdoor terrace and a private room known as the Snug, which features a mural by artist TM Davy.
Hindmarch said: “What a thrill to have a cocktail on the list at The Berkeley, one of my favourite places in the world. It has been an honour to work with our cherished neighbour on a project that celebrates our shared love of community and craftsmanship.”
Parvin added: “The Berkeley has always felt like a real home from home, both for me and for my clients, who return to it time and again as their base in London. It’s somewhere that’s both beautifully considered and genuinely welcoming. I’ve always admired the way it reflects the character of our neighbourhood and brings people together so naturally. It’s such a pleasure to be part of something that celebrates not just the hotel, but the community around it.”
