Boutique brand Hotel Du Vin has acquired the Cannizaro House hotel in London’s Wimbledon for an undisclosed sum.

Cannizaro House will launch as part of Hotel Du Vin in 2015, after receiving a £1m refurbishment. The opening of the 46-bedroom property will mark the brand’s first hotel in the London area and take its portfolio of hotels up to 16.

Gary Davis, CEO of Hotel du Vin, said: “We are delighted to continue to grow our portfolio of hotels with the opening of our first hotel in the prestigious location of Wimbledon, London. Set within beautiful grounds the hotel is well connected to central London making it a great place for a leisure break, a business meeting or a wedding.

“We will invest a further £1m into the hotel over the coming months to bring our own style of chic accommodation and destination dining here and we look forward to becoming a vital and integral part of the local community.”
