Neil Brailsford named general manager of Pullman Liverpool hotel

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

French hotel group AccorHotels has announced that it has appointed Neil Brailsford as the general manager of its new Pullman branded hotel in Liverpool

Brailsford will be responsible for the daily running of the hotel, which forms part the Exhibition Centre Liverpool, a new development project on Liverpool’s King’s Docks. One of his key responsibilities will be the recruitment of the rest of the hotel’s team.

Brailsford, who joins from the Mercure Southampton hotel – also within the AccorHotels portfolio – where he was general manager, has more than 20 years experience within the hotel industry.

He said: “I am delighted to be involved in such an exciting project and look forward to both working and living in Liverpool. The completed hotel will be superb and my focus is to ensure the service we offer our guests is also of the highest quality.”

The 216-bedroom Pullman hotel, which is currently under-construction, is expected to take bookings from January next year and will be operated by Branded Hotel Management (BHM) under a franchise agreement.

The hotel will be the second Pullman hotel in the UK, and the first newly-built, following the launch of the 312-room property in London St Pancras in 2012.
