InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the signing of Hotel Indigo London – Aldgate.
The newly built 207-bedroom hotel, located in the heart of a major residential and commercial development project in London’s Aldgate Place, will operate under a franchise agreement with Meadow Partners and Roquebrook and is expected to open in 2017.
Anna Corkill, development director for the UK & Ireland at IHG, said: “Together with Meadow Partners and Roquebrook we’re proud to be bringing the first Hotel Indigo hotel to East London.
“London is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world and is therefore a key global city for everyone. With so many unique neighbourhoods, it is the perfect location for the brand and this latest signing is very much in line with our growth plans for the city.”
The Indigo brand, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, currently has a portfolio of nine properties in the UK with a further eight in the pipeline. Each Indigo hotel is designed to reflect the culture, character and history of its surrounding area.
