Accomable partners with Hilton London Bankside to promote access for disabled and elderly travellers

In this episode we speak to Nico Tréguer, co-founder of Roberts and Treguer and The Culpeper Family. Nico spoke about founding the group alongside his longtime friend Gareth, having had a vision for bringing more nature spaces to cities, the planned extension of The Buxton in Spitalfields, and how the site’s storytelling engages guests and the local community, how the Culpeper Family’s core sustainability ethos helped it secure its B-Corp status and why hospitality has a responsibility to educate and innovate when it comes to sustainability.

Accomable, a platform for finding adapted hotels and vacation rentals for disabled and elderly people, has partnered with Hilton London Bankside, to showcase its disabled-friendly, accessible rooms.
Through the Accomable website, disabled and elderly travellers will be able to see and book accessible rooms with a 12% discount at Hilton London Bankside, which all boast the hotel’s chic, urban style, larger than average London floor space, complementary WiFi and bottled water, as well as extra-wide doorways, roll-in shower with grab rails and a lowered Hilton Serenity Bed and bathroom facilities.

The hotel also offers a number of disabled-friendly facilities within its state of the art gym and swimming pool.

Founded in 2015 by London-based disabled entrepreneur, Srin Madipalli, Accomable offers more than 700 mobility friendly hotels and holiday rentals worldwide, and guarantees the accessibility of every hotel room and self-catering property sold through its site.

Accomable’s CEO and co-founder, Srin Madipalli, said: “Hilton Bankside London is one of our city’s best hotels with fantastic accessible rooms and facilities, so we are thrilled that our customers will now be able to book their stay through Accomable.

“As a disabled traveller, I know how difficult it can be to trust that hotels and holiday accommodation will deliver on the accessible adaptations and facilities they promise. That’s why we set up Accomable, and why we verify the access of every room listed on our site.

“The accessible rooms are beautiful, and many have fantastic skyline views over the Thames, and the location is second to none, right by some of the most iconic landmarks in the city.”
James Clark, general manager at Hilton London Bankside, said: “Hilton London Bankside has always taken its accessibility to all guests as a matter of utmost importance. We offer beautiful, contemporary rooms and suites in one of the best locations in London – close to the Globe Theatre, The Shard, the Tate Modern, and all of the attractions Bankside has to offer.

“We are looking forward to promoting our accessible rooms and facilities, and indeed our vibrant, accessible city, through Accomable, and cannot wait to welcome their customers.”

The partnership with Hilton London Bankside follows record private investment in Accomable in May 2016, and is part of the company’s strategy to on-board dozens of major hotel chains, and grow its number of listings to more than 1,500 by the end of the year.

The company recently announced a partnership with IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) which will see hundreds of accessible rooms from across the giant organisation join its platform.
