Raymond Blanc opened the doors of his Michelin starred restaurant Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons to raise money for charity.
The dinner itself raised £22,305 for the Oxford Children’s Hospital, the Heartfelt Appeal and Oxford Cancer Centre – but a further £1,750 was raised by the Le Manoir team with guests having their picture taken bearing the Olympic flame – carried by the chef during the summer.
All money raised goes towards funding additional medical equipment, ground-breaking research and creating more comfortable surroundings for patients and their families.
Children’s development officer, Penny Hambridge said: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Raymond Blanc and his team at Le Manoir for the fantastic support they show to the Children’s Hospital and thank them for all their efforts which are hugely appreciated,” she said.
“Not only have they put on this amazing dinner which has raised over £22,000, but they also entered a team for the abseil fundraiser and have given children from the hospital school the most wonderful opportunity to visit the gardens and kitchens at Le Manoir.’
