Splendid Hospitality Group has appointed Philip Bolson as the general manager for York-based Grand Hotel and Spa.\r\n\r\nThe hotel, which is York\u2019s only five-star property is in its final stages of a \u00a315m redevelopment. \r\n\r\nAs part of the refurbishment, the hotel\u2019s restaurant will be renovated and there will be additional bedrooms. Its new restaurant will seat 140 diners.\r\n\r\nStuart Bailey, CEO of Splendid Hospitality Group said: \u201cWe are thrilled that Philip is joining The Grand Hotel and Spa team. \r\n\r\n"With the hotel\u2019s exciting redevelopment project in full swing it is perfect timing for him to take the reins. Philip has superb operational skills which are ideal for launching and managing hotels.\u201d\r\n\r\nBolson added: \u201cOver the years, The Grand Hotel and Spa has been a great success story for York and I am delighted to join the team as it enters a new, even more exciting chapter. \r\n\r\n\u201cWe have really talented staff at The Grand and every one of them is committed to making sure that the hotel surpasses our five AA star credentials.\u201d\r\n\r\nBolson previously worked as an operations director for Splendid Hospitality Group, overseeing the management of hotels across the group\u2019s portfolio.
