Porter’s 30 years of service celebrated

The Swan Hotel in Suffolk recently held a champagne reception to commemorate its night porter’s 30 years of service.

63-year-old Malcolm Bowman was presented with a Tissot watch, flowers and a certificate of long service by colleagues at the champagne reception to mark his three decades with the hotel.

Presenting the long service award, The Swan’s general manager Ingo Wiangke said: “During his many years at the hotel Malcolm has seen a great number of changes and people come and go; he is a valued and loyal member of our team. We would like to thank him for so many years of admirable dedication to the business and hope he will continue with us for many years to come.”

Malcolm, who lives nearby in Lavenham with his wife Valerie, retains as much enthusiasm for his job as he did in the beginning and has no plans to retire.
