A new Ibis budget hotel has opened in Bishop’s Stortford. The site, which will open less than  three miles away from the airport terminus.

Ibis budget Bishops Stortford (London Stansted Airport), which follows a lease ro AGO Hotels, will reportedly operate elevated hygiene and prevention measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all guests and staff in line with Accor’s ALLSAFE label certification.

Lionel Benjamin, co-founder of AGO Hotels, said: “We are so pleased to have opened the doors to this new ibis budget hotel to provide a convenient and comfortable base for travellers in and out of Stansted, as well as guests staying in the area for business and leisure.

“The team are delighted to be able to welcome visitors to the new hotel, which offers a comfortable and affordable setting. The hotel also offers lots of on-site parking, within five minutes’ drive of the main airport terminus.”

AGO Hotels launched in July 2020, calling itself an alternative platform for hotel owners and operators, specialising in the budget hotels sector.

AGO Hotels’ distinctive business model will help ensure the long-term success of the new hotel in Bishop’s Stortford, with a 25-year lease designed to withstand challenging market conditions during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Viv Watts, co-founder of AGO Hotels, said: “Despite launching AGO in the height of the pandemic, our distinctive hybrid lease model has shown its resilience in tough market conditions, and we have continued to grow rapidly. We are also able to proudly say we have continued pay full rents to all AGO landlords.

“Now, we are looking forward to welcoming guests into our existing hotels, as well as continuing to look for new locations across the UK, where we can drive returns for landlords through our profit-sharing lease model. Our business model will guarantee rent and include owners in the hotel’s profits as the market returns to normalcy.”
