Hotel Indigo Dundee has unveiled  the first look of its newly opened state-of-the-art bar Eighteen Twenty-Two following a £1m refurbishment

The refurbishment also showcases a stylish new look hotel lobby and additional guest parking.

The Eighteen Twenty-Two bar celebrates Hotel Indigo Dundee’s history, marking the date the building first opened as Dundee’s oldest, and at the time, the world’s largest linen mill.

Design touches from hotel design company Ica refer to the building’s industrial past with bespoke jute wallpaper and artwork showcasing the building throughout the centuries.

Now open daily, the bar will offer guests and visitors the chance to discover local home-grown Dundee brands, with a bar team serving local gins, local draught and whiskies from across each region of Scotland.

From 9am each day guests can try coffee and pastries while using the co-working facilities in the new space. From noon  the bar menu will serve bar bites, homemade soup of the day and small and large plates. Dishes will include pork and black pudding sausage rolls, bite-sized burger sliders and house dishes such as haddock goujons and steak and ale pie.

Jean-Pierre Permutt, director at Percor Capital, owner of Hotel Indigo, said: “We’ve enjoyed an incredible five years since opening Hotel Indigo and Staybridge Suites in Dundee and are now delighted to unveil our £1m investment to elevate our offering even further with the newly opened bar, Eighteen Twenty-Two.

“Eighteen Twenty-Two showcases our commitment to offering guests a journey through Dundee’s rich culture and history, with every detail from the carefully curated drinks offering to the warm ambience designed to allow guests to experience local culture and spirit and our hotel’s incredible history and heritage.”

Manny Baber, general manager at Cycas Hospitality managed Hotel Indigo and Staybridge Suites Dundee, said: “I am thrilled to showcase our brand-new bar, Eighteen Twenty-Two and welcome guests and locals to experience the space. We will be serving a rich mix of incredible local brands alongside international favourites plus homemade specials and house favourites to tuck into, all within a beautifully designed interior. Our walls are steeped in history with so many incredible stories to tell, so we are excited to welcome more people into the fold!”
