In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Vertus Edit, a part of the Canary Wharf Group, has announced that it is set to open its first aparthotel in Canary Wharf in February 2025.

The studios range from 15 sqm – 32 sqm and provide a bathroom, kitchenette, sleeping area and wardrobe.

Guests also benefit from spaces including a number of lounges and terraces, bookable
meeting rooms, co-working space, dining rooms, laundry rooms and a gym.

Furthermore, guests can take advantage of a curated programme of events organised by a dedicated in-house team.

Freya Richard, director of leasing and operations at Vertus, said: “The launch of Vertus Edit is the next step in the hugely exciting and ongoing evolution of the Wharf. With Vertus’ BTR portfolio fully leased up, adding Vertus Edit gives business and leisure visitors who are looking to stay on a flexible, short-term basis another choice.

“Benefiting from our events programme and surrounded by green and blue spaces, some of London’s best new restaurants, incredible transportation across London and to surrounding airports, you couldn’t be better placed to experience everything that the Wharf has to offer. This latest proposition builds on the success of the residential offer at Canary Wharf, which is now home to more than 3,500 residents, and adds a short stay offering to the Vertus portfolio.”
