Travelodge officially opens London Bromley Mall hotel

In this episode we speak to Daniel Kyriakides, a partner at law firm Reed Smith. We discuss why private members’ clubs are experiencing a resurgence and what that means for the future of the hotel sector. From heritage buildings being reimagined as lifestyle destinations to hotels borrowing the experiential playbook of members’ clubs, we discuss how the lines between the two are becoming increasingly blurred, and why global growth is on the horizon for the private members club model.

Travelodge has officially opened its new 59-bedroom hotel in Bromley town centre, in south east London, creating 19 new jobs for the local community.

The new hotel has received the brand’s latest premium design, which Travelodge has called its “most significant brand transformation to date” and includes a redesigned reception and “next-generation” rooms.

Rooms also offer ensuite shower rooms, a “spacious” desk, a TV with freeview, LED lighting, and USB desk and bedside charging points.

The hotel has received an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B, as well as a number of sustainable features such as LED lighting throughout and green roofs to encourage biodiversity.

London Bromley Town Centre Travelodge is located a short distance away from Bromley Civic Centre and the Churchill Theatre, while Bromley Train Station is just a two minute walk from the hotel.

Steve Bennett, chief property and development officer at Travelodge, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome guests  to our newly opened London Bromley Mall hotel which is the very latest in our growing network of hotels throughout London.

“Guests can benefit from design features such as our revamped reception area and next generation room including king size Dreamer™ bed, LED lighting and USB charging. We continue to look for more London locations and have four more new London hotels currently under construction in Beckenham, Chiswick, Stratford and Upminster.”

Travelodge recently acquired an office building in St Paul’s to convert into a 95-room hotel, subject to planning permission
