Marcliffe unveils new brasserie Skylark

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Marcliffe Hotel in Aberdeen is to open a new brasserie, Skylark, at the end of this month.

The venue will be a “vibrant space”, with a focus on local ingredients and contemporary design.

The name Skylark comes from the bird known for its “joyful song and skyward flight” according to the hotel, which said it reflects the light and atmosphere planned for the space.

The brasserie’s design will feature bold interiors and a setting intended to “elevate the experience” for diners.

The announcement comes shortly after Marcliffe was recognised as an AA five-star hotel, an accolade highlighting its standards of service, hospitality and guest experience.

Sir Jim Milne CBE, chairman of Balmoral Group and Marcliffe, said: “Skylark represents everything we want the future of Marcliffe to be, welcoming, inspiring, and full of life.

“It’s a space that brings people together and offers something truly unique for Aberdeen. We’re incredibly proud of what’s taking shape and excited to share it with our guests.”
