The Pig Hotels has appointed hospitality operator Ashley Ely as hotel director at The Pig near Bath, marking his return to a senior management role after a short career break.
Ely was previously general manager at The Newt in Somerset, where he served from 2023 to 2025.
His earlier roles include general manager positions at The Bird in Bath and at several properties within the Locke Hotels portfolio.
He has also held senior posts at Kaleidoscope Collection, Chewton Glen and The Zetter Group during a career spanning more than two decades.
Ely began his career in hotel operations before progressing into general management roles at a range of luxury and boutique properties across the UK.
His experience includes leadership positions in both rural destinations and major city hotels.
In a LinkedIn post, Ely said: “After a lovely break, I’m delighted to have started as hotel director at The Pig near Bath. What a beautiful spot and an incredibly talented and fun team, all supported by a brilliant central crew and complemented by the rest of the litter far and wide.”
