The Holiday Inn Chester West hotel has been sold to Mzaman Holdings Group for an undisclosed price.

The hotel, which was previously owned by Autolodge Hotel Limited, is located just off the A55 close to Chester city centre.

It features 81 en suite bedrooms, as well as four function rooms, a lounge bar and restaurant, and a large car park.

Mrs Ghezala Abbas, director at Mzaman Holdings Group, said: “The Holiday Inn Chester West fits our growing portfolio of high-quality assets, and we are pleased to see how Malcolm and the family have looked after this hotel over the years.”

Malcolm Davies, of Autolodge Hotel Limited, added: “The hotel was built just over 35 years ago and, managed by my wife, daughters and myself, it has evolved into a successful combination of warm family-operated hotel and well-established franchised property.

“The time has now come for us to focus on our other business interests and take a little more family time.  I have no doubt that the exceptional team of people at the hotel who we have had the privilege of working with shall continue the success story with Mzaman Holdings Group. I see the hotel going from strength to strength.”

Tom O’Malley, associate director at Christie and Co, who oversaw the sale, concluded: “It was great to work with Malcolm and his family to find the right buyer for this wonderful hotel. Malcolm, his wife Edna, and his two daughters Jen and Caroline have worked tirelessly since they took back ownership during the Covid-19 lockdown to make this Holiday Inn one of the highest rated in the franchise

“We continue to see high demand for branded hotels, with similar hotel sales in the pipeline for 2026, and we wish the new owners all the best as they look to grow their portfolio.”
