IHG Hotels and Resorts has named Garner Hotels, its midscale conversion brand, its fastest growing in history as it celebrates launching 100 hotels.

Since its establishment in 2023, Garner has expanded across three continents, with open or pipeline properties in 12 countries.

In the Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa (EMEAA) region, the franchise launched the most hotels of any IHG subsidiary in 2025.

Its 43 openings included its UK debut with the Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury, while also launching in Italy, Turkey, Japan and Thailand.

Garner’s 32 signings and 23 openings across the Americas ranked as the third highest of any brand within IHG, driven by its initial establishment in Mexico along with new sites in Butte, Montana and near Arizona’s Lake Powell.

Garner has extended its reach to suburban Boston and the greater New York City area this year, with an additional global pipeline of close to 80 hotels on the go.

With open or pipeline properties in 12 countries and plans to expand into China in 2026, the brand said it aims to achieve twofold growth in the coming years.

Karen Gilbride, global vice president for Garner hotels at IHG Hotels and Resorts, said: “Garner’s initial global success reflects IHG’s proven expertise in building and scaling conversion-ready brands that owners and guests trust. Beyond offering a high-quality alternative for value-conscious travelers, Garner’s flexible development model allows the brand to more quickly enter new global markets and deliver returns for owners.

“Even as we’ve reached some amazing initial milestones, we’re just starting to tap into Garner’s full growth potential and look forward to introducing its unique offering to more owners and travelers in the years ahead.”

Garner brand exemplifies IHG’s strategic growth trajectory

The recognition of Garner Hotels as IHG’s fastest-growing brand aligns with the company’s strategic objectives initiated over the past few years. Launched in 2023, Garner has rapidly cemented its presence across diverse markets, achieving notable milestones within a short timeframe, including significant openings in the EMEAA region such as the UK debut in 2025.

This rapid expansion is indicative of IHG’s long-term focus on leveraging conversion models and adapting to market demands. Garner’s current pipeline of approximately 80 hotels globally positions it well for sustained growth, following an expansive trend initiated with the brand’s inception, as seen in its comprehensive launch. IHG remains poised to amplify returns for stakeholders, driving strategic advancements through its evolving portfolio.

With plans for further regional expansions—including imminent entry into China—the trajectory of Garner sets a precedent for IHG’s operational scalability and adaptability in a dynamic hospitality landscape.
