Hand Picked Hotels has announced that Audleys Wood Hotel has partnered with Basingstoke Golf Club, as part of a broader commitment to connecting its portfolio to local experiences.

The collaboration will offer guests at the boutique and country house hotel group a ‘Golf and Stay’ package, pairing an 18-hole round of championship golf with an overnight stay, dinner and breakfast. Guests can also add a ‘Golf Day’ experience to an existing reservation.

Meanwhile, members and visitors of Basingstoke Golf Club can benefit from discounted prices at Audleys Wood Hotel, including lowered accommodation rates, 25% savings on afternoon tea and 15% off on selected food and beverage offerings for a total of 12 guests.

Dating back to the 1880s, the Grade-II listed Victorian country hotel was once the private residence of auctioneer Thomas Pain. It has since been converted into a boutique-style hotel offering individually designed bedrooms, seasonal dining and spaces for meetings, weddings and private events.

Basingstoke Golf Club, recently renovated following its move to Dummer in 2021, features an 18-hole championship downland course designed by Weller Designs, a modern state-of-the-art clubhouse. As part of a £20m transformation, it is continuously investing in its practice facilities.

James Webb, general manager for Audleys Wood Hotel, said: “This partnership brings together two Hampshire businesses united by a shared passion for delivering exceptional leisure experiences. What excites me most is the opportunity to connect the heritage and character of our Grade-II listed country house with the forward-thinking vision of modern championship golf.”

David Green, general manager at Basingstoke Golf Club, added: “We’re delighted to announce this exciting partnership which provides both parties with an opportunity to experience the leisure and hospitality sectors on a wider platform, and for Basingstoke Golf Club to have a beautiful and historic country hotel to offer to our customer base, whether local or coming from further afield.”
