The 33-apartment development marks the group’s first entry into the hospitality sector following a £12m office conversion

In this episode we speak to Daniel Kyriakides, a partner at law firm Reed Smith. We discuss why private members’ clubs are experiencing a resurgence and what that means for the future of the hotel sector. From heritage buildings being reimagined as lifestyle destinations to hotels borrowing the experiential playbook of members’ clubs, we discuss how the lines between the two are becoming increasingly blurred, and why global growth is on the horizon for the private members club model.

Thackeray Group has opened Onefifty Fenchurch, a 33-apartment luxury aparthotel at 150 Fenchurch Street.

The boutique aparthotel, operated by Vertiq Hospitality Partners, marks Thackeray Group’s entry into the hospitality sector.

The site, located near Fenchurch Street Station and Tower Hill, follows a 24-month, £12m conversion of a former office building dating from the early 2000s.

The development consists of studios and one-bedroom apartments ranging from 17 to 31 square metres, and each unit includes a kitchenette, walk-in shower and air conditioning.

Shared facilities at the property include a gym, a yoga and Pilates studio, and private work studios. A communal lounge and pantry are also available for guests.

The architecture was led by Falconer Chester Hall, with interior design by Studio Mark Andrew. The building features 24-hour front office support and fob-controlled access.

Thackeray Group chairman and co-founder, Brett Palos, said: “Onefifty Fenchurch represents a natural evolution for Thackeray Group. Across our developments, we’ve always focused on creating spaces that support how people live and work, with wellbeing at the centre.

“With onefifty fenchurch, we’ve applied that same thinking to hospitality, creating a luxurious aparthotel that prioritises comfort, balance and quality of experience. Partnering with Vertiq Hospitality Partners ensures the hotel is underpinned by the operational expertise needed to deliver that vision from day one.”
