Wyboston Lakes Resort has achieved B Corp Certification, making it one of the few organisations in the UK to be verified by B Lab as meeting standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

The resort, centrally located and 40 minutes from London, consists of two specialist venues, offering a spectrum of options in terms of facility, space, style and budget.

As a global network of businesses, The B Corp Community, provides leadership by a commitment to communities and the environment. Businesses are assessed against these factors in order to progress to certification.

To obtain the certification, businesses must secure a rating of 80 points, with Wyboston Lakes Resort ‘a strong performer’ for its social and environmental processes, ranking at 92.4.Wyboston Lakes Resort

The process was extensive, taking over a year to complete. The assessment involved providing evidence, policies, reports and data, followed by a rigorous verification process carried out by B Lab.

Steve Jones, CEO of the award-winning Bedfordshire resort renowned for its pioneering approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) said: “We’ve always believed that business success should be about more than profit alone.

“For decades we’ve invested in our team members, sought to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to our local communities.  It has been important to us to operate responsibly and ethically. B Corp gave us the opportunity to have these efforts independently assessed and verified against an internationally recognised standard.”

Jones concluded: “This is recognition of the way we have chosen to do business for many years. This certification belongs to everyone.

“It was only possible because of the contribution made by teams across the entire resort. I would like to thank everyone who has played a part in this achievement. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to building on this success in the years ahead.”
