Iconic Luxury Hotels has announced the launch of The Mayfair Townhouse, a “high-end” boutique hotel that is set to open this autumn.

It will mark the fifth hotel in the Iconic Luxury Hotels portfolio, but will “offer a new, unexpected personality from what the brand is traditionally known for”.

The hotel brand has described its aesthetic as “contemporary Georgian style interwoven with English eccentricities”, with every room “thoughtfully curated”. 

Situated on Half Moon Street, the site comprises fifteen connected Georgian buildings, seven of which are Grade II listed, with a theme that reportedly builds on the area’s historic connections to Oscar Wilde.

Goddard Littlefair has led the interior design of the hotel, “reviving” the interiors of the townhouses, while art specialist Minda Dowling has curated the site’s hand-picked collection of art. 

The site features individually designed guest rooms and suites, including Classic Rooms, indoor-outdoor living themed Garden Suites and Penthouse Suites. It will also feature the Dandy Bar, which serves bespoke cocktails.

Andrew Stembridge, executive director of Iconic Luxury Hotels, said: “There is nothing like The Mayfair Townhouse. When the property debuts in autumn 2020, you will see something that has not yet been done. 

“We’ve created a product – a personality – that’s exceptionally unique to our collection at Iconic Luxury Hotels. We’re looking to give London and travellers from all over the world, something fresh, something totally different and something totally unexpected.” 

He added: “This is a new and exciting chapter for Iconic Luxury Hotels, and as we welcome our second property in London, we look forward to creating remarkable memories in the heart of Mayfair.”
