Bloomsbury portfolio brought to market for £37m

Eight freehold hotels in London’s Bloomsbury district have been brought to the market for a total of £37m.

Ranging in size from 12 to 51 bedrooms, the properties predominantly have planning consent for hotel and hostel accommodation.

The establishments, which are on the market for sums of between £1.75m and £10m, were previously used as staff accommodation by a London hotel operator.

Colin Hall, head of London hotels agency at Colliers International, highlighted the “rare opportunity” of all eight properties becoming available together.

He said: “It has taken our clients 40 years to assemble this portfolio, which now provides the very rare opportunity of eight freehold buildings becoming available at one time in the highly desirable neighbourhood of Bloomsbury.

“These properties are in effect superb blank canvases for future development across a range of uses, including boutique hotel accommodation, hostels/poshtels, offices and residential development.”

Situated in the West End, Bloomsbury is a renowned area of London that includes some of the city’s highest occupancy rates.

Hall added that purchasing these properties would allow the owner to “develop hotel/hostel type premises without having to purchase goodwill”.
