The Goring hotel in London closed its doors for the first time in its 104-year history yesterday, as the hotel plans a complete refurbishment on its lobby.
The luxury hotel in Belgravia has hired four English interior designers – Nina Campbell, Tim Gosling, David Linley and Russell Sage – who will completely transform the look of the hotel’s front hall.
Jeremy Goring, owner of the hotel, said: “Even through two world wars, The Goring has never closed. However, we really wanted to give Russell Sage and all the craftsmen space to complete this total renovation. We will then emerge, even better – and ready for the next 100 years to come. And our new Goring footmen will really add another dimension to our service.”
When it reopens the hotel will also have a ‘fleet of footmen’ available to guests who will be on hand to fulfil ‘every wish’ during their stay.
The hotel is expected to reopen on Saturday, February 21, 2015.
