Splendid Hospitality Group has appointed Philip Bolson as the general manager for York-based Grand Hotel and Spa.
The hotel, which is York’s only five-star property is in its final stages of a £15m redevelopment.
As part of the refurbishment, the hotel’s restaurant will be renovated and there will be additional bedrooms. Its new restaurant will seat 140 diners.
Stuart Bailey, CEO of Splendid Hospitality Group said: “We are thrilled that Philip is joining The Grand Hotel and Spa team.
“With the hotel’s exciting redevelopment project in full swing it is perfect timing for him to take the reins. Philip has superb operational skills which are ideal for launching and managing hotels.”
Bolson added: “Over the years, The Grand Hotel and Spa has been a great success story for York and I am delighted to join the team as it enters a new, even more exciting chapter.
“We have really talented staff at The Grand and every one of them is committed to making sure that the hotel surpasses our five AA star credentials.”
Bolson previously worked as an operations director for Splendid Hospitality Group, overseeing the management of hotels across the group’s portfolio.
