Oddfellows in Chester has been named the first hotel in Cheshire to become part of the luxury brand, Mr & Mrs Smith.

It now joins Cowley Manor and the Soho Hotel as one of only three hotels in its region to become members.

As guests check-in at the huge Valkyrie aircraft wing, which serves as a reception desk, they’ll notice some of the fun design quirks that are characteristic of a hotel that refuses to take itself too seriously. This includes  an armchair with stirrups, a giant pig coffee table and a cheeky little brass duck hiding beneath a lampshade.

Guests will enter one of the 18 individually designed rooms to marching classical music playing on a Roberts Revival. The duplex suites have roll top baths, plush and iconic furnishings and beautifully stocked minibar with Rococo chocolate and jellybeans.

Trees grow through tables in the aptly named restaurant ‘The Garden by Simon Radley’ which opens out to the garden through huge sliding doors and is overseen by the long standing Michelin-starred chef.

You can visit the Mr and Mrs Smith website by visiting www.mrandmrssmith.com.
