Yotel has revealed it has appointed Margaret Auld as the new general manager at its Yotel Edinburgh property.
Auld, who joins from Macdonald Holyrood Hotel, brings a “wealth of experience” in customer services, operations and leadership within the hotel industry having previously held senior roles across various departments at Macdonald Hotels and Resorts and Premier Inn.
Most recently, she was operations manager at Macdonald Holyrood Hotel, where she developed a “passion” for team development and creating strong succession plans.
The firm said she brings an “extensive knowledge” of the city of Edinburgh to her new role at Yotel Edinburgh, which is located on Queen’s Street in the capital’s New Town area.
The 276-room property opened in 2019 and is home to Imaginex – a one-of-a-kind 360⁰ screening and events venue – as well as Komyuniti bar, lounge and restaurant, two meeting rooms and a gym.
Auld said: “I’m thrilled to join Yotel and lead the team at its largest hotel in Europe in the heart of wonderful Edinburgh. Yotel Edinburgh offers a different concept and innovative guest experience to other hotels in the city and I’m looking forward to driving the high standards that guests expect from Yotels across the world.”
