Hard Rock Hotel appoints hotel manager ahead of launch

The Hard Rock Hotel in London has appointed Robert Catlin as hotel manager ahead of the 1,000-bedroom hotel’s launch in Spring 2019.

Catlin will oversee the entire operation at the new hotel, including front of house, bedrooms, housekeeping, food and beverage and site security. He returns to London after holding several positions at Marriott International, including GM at the Sharm El Sheikh Marriott Resort in Egypt.

Oliver Kahf was also recently appointed as general manager, and has managed a range of brands and resorts across the Starwood Hotels, Marriott International and Kempinski portfolios.

He began as a management trainee and spent his early career in food and beverage, before switching to sales and marketing, and took up his first GM appointment in Hua Hin, Thailand, in 1994.

At the time Kahf said: “London is always at the centre of world culture, and the timing for a great brand like Hard Rock Hotels could not be better. Bringing together the iconic Hard Rock name with a prestigious hotel site that has played host to legends including Jimi Hendrix and Martha Reeves is a phenomenal opportunity and I am truly looking forward to it.”
