Wild Thyme and Honey, a boutique hotel located in the Cotswolds, has appointed Simon Stanbrook as general manager.
With over 24 years hospitality experience in management and front of house roles within three to five-star boutique hotels and country inns across the country, Stanbrook will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the hotel as well as adjoining pub, The Crown at Ampney Brook.
He will supervise the front of house team, operations and project management duties, drive recruitment and “also ensure the hotel offers the highest quality guest experience”.
Stanbrook joins Wild Thyme and Honey from The Frogmill in Cheltenham, where he held the position of general manager and managed a team of 50. He was responsible for hotel, restaurant and bar management and achieved the 2022 National Pub and Bar Awards UK best pub of the year.
Prior to this, he worked at hotels including The Swan Hotel in Bibury, The George Hotel in Cheltenham and The Manor House hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh.
Stanbrook said: “I am thrilled to take over the role of general manager. I look forward to bringing my passion, knowledge and experience to this hotel to help build on its already excellent reputation and to working closely with my new team to continue to deliver memorable experiences for our guests.”
Drew Brown, managing director at Grosvenor Pubs and Inns, added: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Simon Stanbrook to Wild Thyme and Honey. As the property approaches its first anniversary this December, Simon’s appointment comes at an exciting time for the hotel who are thrilled to have been included in the Top 50 Boutique Hotels list, alongside the likes of The Newt in Somerset and The Fife Arms. We are looking forward to seeing Simon’s talent, meticulous eye for detail and experience in action and believe he’ll be a great addition to our hard-working team.”
