The Greenleaf Group has received planning permission to deliver a new 106-bed hotel for the budget hotel sector on a high-profile site on the Liffey Quays, Dublin.
The group first acquired the site in January 2020 when it was initially meant for a 24-meter high residential building. The site currently contains three unused buildings, two of which are derelict.
Currently, McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects has been appointed to design the high-quality landmark hotel building.
According to the group, the architecture firm’s design is to “mirror the size of the already-permitted residential building”.
The resulting scheme will comprise 106 mid-size budget hotel rooms of approximately 21 sq meters each, as well as the incorporation of all food and beverage and back of house facilities at ground and basement levels.
A spokesperson for Greenleaf Group said: “The proposal represents a unique opportunity to transform an underperforming city centre site by developing a high quality landmark property, which will make a positive architectural and economic contribution to the immediate area and the wider city.”
