The Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel has reopened after an £8m refurbishment, showcasing revamped public spaces and 299 bedrooms. The hotel features a new open lobby with a bar, offering Starbucks coffee and an all-day lounge bar. Upgrades include Egyptian cotton sheets, large flatscreen TVs, and high-speed WiFi in the bedrooms. General manager Matt Byram expressed excitement about the improvements, highlighting upcoming additions such as a club lounge and stand-alone restaurant. The hotel, conveniently located next to all three terminals, also offers amenities like a 24-hour fitness centre and meeting rooms. 

Crerar Hotels Group has expanded its marketing team with the appointment of Chloe Caprani as group marketing manager, supported by Faith Lingle as group marketing executive and Brian Sharp as group social media manager. Marketing director Alison MacLeod praised the new hires for their industry experience and dedication. Caprani expressed enthusiasm about joining the team during a period of growth and highlighted plans to highlight Crerar Hotels properties as top UK destinations.

Hybrid accommodation brands Generator and Freehand Hotels announced record-breaking financial results for 2023, with EBITDA up 28% from the previous year. The brands attributed the success to a 15% increase in revenues, particularly strong in the final quarter. CEO Alastair Thomann credited the durability and appeal of their operating model, catering not only to Gen Z and Millennials but also to diverse guest demographics seeking new travel experiences.

Wyboston Lakes Resort reported a successful 2023, surpassing previous revenue figures and achieving positive growth in gross margin and net profit. The year saw record-breaking revenue in key months and exceeded expectations in business development and sales revenue. Chief commercial officer Richard Smith attributed the success to proactive sales strategies, effective planning, and resilience in navigating challenges. The company has already secured substantial contracts for 2024, positioning itself for continued success.
