Liutauras Vaitkevicius, the managing director of Zetter Hotels, has stepped down from his position after four and a half years in the role.
Vaitkevicius, who has over 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry, oversaw the strategic direction, operational and asset management performance of Zetter’s portfolio of boutique hotels.
Writing on LinkedIn, Vaitkevicius said: “Good heavens – it’s never easy to say goodbye. And what an extraordinary 4.5 years it’s been!!
“My heartfelt thanks to the The Zetter team for a veritable trove of memories. From accolades and achievements to spirited discussions, panels, interviews, events, partnerships, and the occasional glorious takeover – there’s been such a wealth of human-led moments!”
He added: “It’s been a true privilege to work alongside you, and to be part of a team that consistently exceeded expectations and punched – dare I say – gloriously above its weight.
Here’s to the future, and the next grand adventure that awaits!”
The news comes as The Zetter appointed Kevin Rockey to the newly-created role of area general manager to help support the next stage of growth for the group.
While his appointment will help drive the international expansion of The Zetter brand, he will also lead the opening of The Zetter Bloomsbury, officially opening in January 2026.
The next major opening for the group will be the 68-room Zetter Bloomsbury, set for January 2026. Its opening will follow the transformation of six 300-year-old Georgian townhouses. With interiors crafted by James Thurstan Waterworth, founder of Thurstan, the hotel will “blend Georgian charm with lived-in elegance, giving guests a perfect base to explore Bloomsbury and the neighbouring British Museum”.
