IHG appoints Nicholas Cadbury as non-executive director

In this episode we speak to Daniel Kyriakides, a partner at law firm Reed Smith. We discuss why private members’ clubs are experiencing a resurgence and what that means for the future of the hotel sector. From heritage buildings being reimagined as lifestyle destinations to hotels borrowing the experiential playbook of members’ clubs, we discuss how the lines between the two are becoming increasingly blurred, and why global growth is on the horizon for the private members club model.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has appointed Nicholas Cadbury as a non-executive director, effective from 1 March 2026.

Cadbury will join the audit committee and the responsible business committee on appointment.

He is currently chief financial and sustainability officer at International Consolidated Airlines Group.

Before this, he was group finance director at Whitbread between 2012 and 2022, having previously held chief financial officer roles at Premier Farnell and Dixons Retail.

Cadbury has also served as a non-executive director at Land Securities Group, where he chaired the audit committee from 2017 to 2023.

IHG said the appointment further strengthened the board’s mix of financial, commercial and sector experience.

The company added that there was no additional information to disclose under section 6.4.8R of the UK Listing Rules in relation to Cadbury’s appointment.
