The group held the ceremony to mark this milestone in the hotel’s development and to thank the people involved with the project thus far, ahead of its opening scheduled for early 2020.
The hotel will boast 210 bedrooms, 500 plus capacity ballroom, fine-dining and all-day dining restaurants, champagne lounge, tea salon, separate bar and a fully-integrated spa and wellness facilities.
The new building is on the site of the former Savill Court Hotel and Spa and will preserve the “aesthetic quality” of the previous building with its Jacobean architecture and red-brickwork features.
Surinder Arora, founder and chairman of Arora Group, said: “We have been working relentlessly on the development of this wonderful property for a while now and I cannot express how delighted I am to see our dream start to become a reality. As a company and family, we are all truly looking forward to welcoming this new hotel to our collection.”
Sinead Hughes, head of developments at Grove Developments, added: “Upon starting this project, we set high expectations of ourselves (as we do with any project) and that ambition has driven us forward to develop this magnificent structure which will not only retain features of the previous historic building but will incorporate contemporary and elegant features.”
