The Nottingham Belfry Hotel and Spa has been brought to market for an undisclosed amount, after administrators were appointed earlier this month, with the four-star venue continuing to trade as normal.
The four-star venue, which currently trades as normal, was purpose built on Mellors Way just outside Nottingham city centre and offers 120 bedrooms and suites. The hotel is known locally for its wedding and conferencing facilities, with a range of function rooms capable of hosting up to 700 guests.
Nottingham Belfry’s health club and spa also has around 600 members, with the Elemis-partnered spa including six treatment rooms, an indoor pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and relaxation room, alongside a gym and fitness studios.
The property is close to the M1 at Junction 26 and is being offered as an opportunity for an experienced operator to take on the remaining period of the lease. The business has multiple income streams from accommodation, events and leisure facilities.
According to the administrators, the hotel has continued operating following their appointment, with all staff retained and existing bookings being honoured.
Anthony Simmons, director at FRP Advisory and joint administrator, said: “The Nottingham Belfry Hotel and Spa is a high-quality venue with an excellent reputation and a strong presence in the local market. We’re actively seeking a buyer and are focused on securing a positive outcome that preserves the business and protects jobs.”
Matt Hill, senior business agent at Christie and Co, who is managing the sale process, said there was a bid deadline of 26 January.
