Bridgewood House in Stafford has been brought to market with a freehold asking price of £2.5m, with leasehold proposals also being considered.

Located on Earl Street, Bridgewood House is a Grade II listed town centre hotel, which features 72 en suite guest bedrooms with a mix of single, double and triple rooms.

In recent years, it has operated as a budget-style hotel, with pod-style layouts and communal facilities including sitting rooms, kitchens and laundry rooms.

The site includes a bar and restaurant that previously traded as the Hogshead Public House, and offers 84 covers.

Alexi Pittalis of Jomaro Group, the hotel’s owner, said: “My grandfather bought this beautiful Grade II listed building over 20 years ago, and since then, it has been run as a pub, cafe, restaurant, hotel, staff and student accommodation, and more.

“What stands out is its prominent location in the heart of Stafford. It is an incredible opportunity for someone with vision. It’s time to let it go so we can focus on our property portfolio in London.”

Matt Hill, senior business agent at Christie and Co, is managing the sale process and added: “Bridgewood House provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced hotel operator to acquire a freehold asset in the heart of Stafford town centre.

“There are an excellent number of rooms arranged in a modern format with communal facilities whilst still retaining the character of the building. It is a substantial property in a great location and the bar and restaurant offers an additional income stream in a busy, convenient location.”
