Hand Picked Hotels has appointed two new general managers at its Rhinefield House Hotel and Buxted Park Hotel locations, which it said reflects its ongoing commitment to long-term growth and operational excellence.

Carl Lynch will now lead operations at Rhinefield House, a luxury four AA Red Star hotel located in the the New Forest characterised by large woodland grounds along with Tudor and Gothic architecture.

He joins with more than 15 years of senior leadership experience in the British and Irish hospitality sectors, overseeing large estates and complex hotel operations at properties such as the Hampshire’s Old Thorns Resort and the Castlemartyr Resort in Ireland, The Vineyard at Stockcross and The Ritz London.

Lynch’s experience spans various hospitality departments, including accommodation, food and beverage, leisure facilities, conferences and events.

He has additionally headed several renovation and development projects.

In East Sussex, Daniel Courtney will manage Buxted Park Hotel, a Grade II listed Palladian mansion situated on 312 acres of parkland home to restaurant The Orangery.

Courtney will build on a career in country house hospitality and hotel management in a range of independent hotels and estate properties, stepping over from managing The Bell in Ticehurst.

His earlier roles have included a general manager and senior operational positions at properties including Macdonald Marine Hotel and Spa, Linden Hall Hotel Golf and Country Club and Middleton Lodge Estate.

Collaborating with teams to reinforce day-to-day operations and advance business’ long-term growth, Courtney has additionally been at the forefront of repositioning and development of independent sites.

His leadership approach and operational knowledge make him well suited to guiding Rhinefield House Hotel through its next stage of development.

“Daniel has extensive experience in managing country house hotels and a practical leadership style that supports both team development and business performance. His experience will support Buxted Park Hotel as it continues to develop.”
