Minor Hotels has signed two new resort properties in Thailand in partnership with Rasa Group, which include the debut of the Colbert Collection brand in Asia with a site on Koh Samui and a new Avani resort on Koh Phangan.

Colbert Collection Koh Samui, located on Chaweng Beach, will feature 32 beachfront keys. Currently operating as Buri Rasa Village Samui, the property will transition to Minor Hotels management on 1 May. A full rebranding is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027 following an extensive renovation.

Facilities at the Koh Samui resort will include dining venues, a swimming pool, fitness centre, and spa. The property is 15 minutes from Samui International Airport and joins five existing Minor Hotels resorts on the island, including Anantara and NH Collection branded properties.

On Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach in Koh Phangan, the group will launch Avani Koh Phangan. The 63-key resort, currently Buri Rasa Village Phangan, will also move to Minor Hotels management on 1 May. It will likewise undergo a phased renovation before rebranding in early 2027.

The Koh Phangan resort will offer pool access and oceanfront rooms, a kids’ club, and a gym. Both properties are owned by Rasa Group, a Thai real estate firm that already collaborates with Minor Hotels on the Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas.

Dillip Rajakarier, group chief executive of Minor International, said: “This dual signing represents a strategic step in expanding our presence in Southern Thailand across both our premium lifestyle and soft brand segments.

“Introducing Colbert Collection to Asia in Koh Samui and strengthening our resort portfolio in Koh Phangan with Avani allows us to further diversify our offering in destinations that continue to see strong international demand.”

Rapi Pinijchob, chief executive of Rasa Group, added: “We are truly excited to deepen our long-standing partnership with Minor Hotels through these two exceptional projects. Koh Samui and Koh Phangan are not only iconic destinations, but also markets with tremendous, untapped potential for the next phase of high-quality tourism growth.

“This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to innovation, thoughtful development and creating enduring value. These projects are an important step forward in our broader vision of elevating hospitality assets into distinctive, high-performing destinations that resonate with today’s evolving traveller.”
