Welsh hospitality company expands portfolio into English leisure market with purchase of 32-bedroom boutique venue

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

The Morgans Family has acquired the Michelin Key-awarded boutique hotel The Harper in Langham, North Norfolk for an undisclosed sum.

The transaction marks the first expansion outside Wales for the family-run hospitality business, which operates a portfolio of coastal hotels and dining venues across West Wales.

The 32-bedroom luxury property includes a fine dining restaurant, bar, games room, and spa.

The venue gained a Michelin Key in 2024 under its previous ownership. The new owners plan to run the regional site by maintaining its existing staff structure and branding rather than altering its operational layout.

Shon Morgans, director, said: “A truly exceptional hotel, and it is a privilege to become its custodian. A Michelin Key property of this calibre, in a setting as distinguished as the North Norfolk coast, warrants ownership with a clear and considered vision for its future.

“We want The Harper to belong to North Norfolk, a destination that gives people yet another reason to take pride in this remarkable corner of England. The landscapes, the community, and the dedication to food and hospitality here are quite extraordinary, and our focus is firmly on honouring and building upon all of that. We are confident this marks the beginning of a very promising new chapter.”
