The Lanesborough hotel, which has undergone a 19-month refurbishment reportedly costing more than £60m, has today reopened its doors to guests.
The five-star 93-bedroom hotel, which is located in London’s Knightsbridge, has reopened following an extensive refurbishment which saw all of its bedrooms, including 43 suites, and public areas receive a complete makeover.
The hotel, which had a ‘soft launch’ on July 1 in which a limited number of guests were able to reserve both rooms and restaurant, is now officially open to the public for bookings. The actual cost of the refurbishment has not been released, although reports suggest it cost more than £60m.
Frank Marrenbach, CEO Oetker Collection, which manages the property, said: “With its strategic location in the heart of London, The Lanesborough, with managing director Geoffrey Gelardi at its helm is a prestigious addition to our portfolio, a major step for our development, and a natural complement to Le Bristol Paris, its sister hotel.”
The refurbishment also included the launch of its new restaurant ‘Céleste’, formerly Apsleys, which has space for 110 diners and includes a private dining room which can seat up to 14 people and two wine-tasting rooms.
The Lanesborough is known as one of London’s most expensive hotels with its cheapest double bedroom now starting at £715 a night while its most expensive suite costs £26,000 a night.
