Britannia Hotels has acquired the The Cavendish Hotel in Eastbourne, for an undisclosed sum off a guide price of £5.5m.
The 119-bedroom, four-star hotel is located on Eastbourne’s Grand Parade and features conferencing facilities, banqueting facilities and a private car park.
Simon Stevens, director at Christie & Co’s head office which handled the sale, said: “The property attracted a great deal of interest resulting in a competitive bidding process with a deal ultimately being completed by Britannia Hotels. This encouraging interest underpins buyers’ enthusiasm for profitable businesses in prominent locations.”
Britannia Hotels, which operates 51 hotels and Pontins Holiday Parks, has recently acquired four hotels – including two Hotel Collection properties – to add to its expanding portfolio in the last month, increasing its room stock to over 9,000 bedrooms.
