Dalata Hotel Group has opened its first Maldron Hotel in London, after it purchased the ready-to-go 191-bedroom hotel in Finsbury Park for £44.3m and invested a further £4.1m to meet Maldron Hotels’ “exacting” standards.
The opening of the four-star hotel, which has created 50 new jobs, is the group’s 53rd hotel in the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe, and the first of five new Maldron Hotels set to open across the UK in the next 12 months.
The building has a contemporary ground floor lobby with a spacious dining and bar area, and a fitness suite.
Maldron Hotel Finsbury Park also benefits from “comfortable and stylish” rooms, including deluxe double-bedrooms, all complete with rainfall showers, wood floors, air-conditioning, and USB charge points.
In addition, the hotel has been designed with sustainability “at its core” and has been accredited with a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, as well as met EPC A status.
Kirsty Monington, general manager of Maldron Hotel Finsbury Park, said: “We are proud to add to the area’s growing reputation as a destination suburb. Following a successful partial opening in July, we are now up to full capacity and looking forward to welcoming even more guests.
“Finsbury Park is just a five-minute walk away from the hotel and hosts some of London’s biggest concerts and festivals, with headliners such as The 1975 and Pulp having taken to the stage recently.”
She added: “Given how accessible we are to central London, Maldron Hotel Finsbury Park really does provide a cost-effective alternative to city centre pricing.”
