Brightstar Hospitality has announced the appointment of Sylvain Lagier, formerly of Atlas Hotels, as its new group operations director.

The newly-created senior leadership role marks a “significant” step in the group’s strategy, with Lagier set to oversee operations across the company’s expanding hotel portfolio, including both branded and independent hotels.

Nik Gupta, CEO of Brightstar, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sylvain to the Brightstar team. His experience from brands like Disney, IHG, Hilton and Accor, as well as independent hotels, will be invaluable to us as we move into this next chapter of the business.

“He brings the perfect balance of hands-on operational expertise, long-term strategic insight, and we’re excited for him to lead our operations as we embark on the next phase of our journey.”

Lagier said: “I’m excited to be joining Brightstar at this pivotal time and looking forward to making great things happen for our people, our guests and our owners.”

Hayley Pearce, head of people and culture for Brightstar, added: “Sylvain’s leadership and expertise will be instrumental in driving our business to new heights, and we are confident he will make a significant impact.”

With a head office in Stratford-upon-Avon, Brightstar Hospitality currently operates 23 hotels across the UK, with several more in the pipeline alongside a number of long-term developments.
