Newmarket’s Bedford Lodge Hotel and Spa has announced the start of its new phase of refurbishment as part of a £250,000 reinvestment programme.

The move began with a series of light refurbishments, and next will be a “major” digital transformation, set to launch in January  2026.

The first stage of the programme has already seen a light refurbishment of the hotel’s Roxana Bar, with new carpets and curtains installed to refresh and modernise the space, as well as an upgrade to both the guest lifts. Work is also underway on updating 25 of the hotel’s bathrooms.

Alongside physical improvements to the property, the hotel is investing £60,000 in the creation of a brand-new website. The redesigned site will “bring together the hotel and spa’s digital presence for the first time, creating a seamless and user-friendly platform for guests to explore, book, and engage with the property’s services”.

The new website is designed with a mobile-first approach and will reportedly enhance online visibility, boost direct bookings, and allow cross-selling of services.

Noel Byrne, CEO of Bedford Lodge Hotel and Spa, said: “Bedford Lodge Hotel and Spa is proud to be reinvesting in both our property and our digital future. As well as the current improvements, we’re also reviewing a number of areas in the hotel, with a plan for further refurbishments to take place over the coming years.

“These developments will not only enhance the experience for our guests today, but also ensure that we are continuing to evolve sustainably and innovatively for the years ahead. We are committed to maintaining our reputation as one of Suffolk’s leading luxury hotel and spa destinations.”
