Hilton to open Spark hotel in Chiswick

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Growjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Hilton has partnered with London Metro Hotels to open a Spark by Hilton property in Chiswick in 2026, marking the brand’s first site in west London and adding to its growing UK presence. The hotel will join recently launched Spark by Hilton sites in Romford and Luton as the company broadens its premium-economy offering. Hilton launched the brand in 2023 and has since opened more than 200 Spark hotels worldwide, with a further 200 in development.

The planned Chiswick hotel will occupy renovated Victorian townhouses and is scheduled to open in Spring 2026. Hilton said the design would combine period features with modern fittings to align with the area’s residential character.

The scheme will provide 105 rooms alongside a casual dining space and meeting facilities aimed at business travellers. Plans also include a complimentary drinks station, a round-the-clock retail area and on-site parking.

The location sits within walking distance of several London Underground stations, including Turnham Green and Stamford Brook, offering direct access to central London. Heathrow Airport can be reached in around 30 minutes by car, while Gatwick Airport is about one hour away by public transport.

Hilton has been expanding Spark by Hilton across Europe, with hotels already open in Austria, France, Germany and Spain. Additional European sites are due to open in Türkiye and France in 2026.

Nick Smart, vice president, development, UK, Ireland and Nordics, Hilton, said: “Spark by Hilton Chiswick is not only a great example of the high-quality product we’ve come to expect from the Spark brand – it also showcases the fantastic conversion opportunity it offers to owners.

“This signing reflects Hilton’s ambitious plans to grow the brand in the UK, and as we look ahead to 2026 we look forward to announcing more deals, particularly in regional hotspots across the country.”

Denzil Ratnam, general manager, Spark by Hilton London Chiswick, added: “We’re excited to be partnering with Hilton to bring this project to life, offering guests a high-quality stay at great value in beautifully restored Victorian townhouses.

“Not only that, but by tapping into Hilton’s global network of guests and marketing resources, we can help drive occupancy and performance for Spark by Hilton London Chiswick from day one. We look forward to welcoming travellers and locals alike to experience the unique charm and convenience that this hotel will bring to West London.”
