Lough Erne Resort has been named the top-rated hotel in the UK by Which? Travel, following an independent review of the hospitality sector.

The resort, located in the Fermanagh Lakelands, was awarded a five-star rating by the consumer champion.

According to Which? Travel, this is only the second time in eight years that the organisation has issued its highest score to a hotel.

Inspectors at the independent product tester conducted reviews anonymously by booking standard rooms online, as the group does not accept complimentary stays or preferential treatment to ensure “assessments reflect the genuine guest experience”.

The review highlighted the value of the property, where room rates average £200 per night. It described the venue as the best-value stay in the country, noting the lakeview rooms, spa facilities and the Nick Faldo championship golf course.

Gareth Byrne, general manager of Lough Erne Resort, said: “This is an incredible honour for everyone at Lough Erne Resort. What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that Which? Travel’s reviews are conducted anonymously and independently, reflecting the real experience our guests have when they stay with us.

“To be only the second hotel in eight years to receive a five-star rating from such a trusted consumer authority is truly special, and a wonderful testament to the dedication of our entire team.”
