In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Hotel Indigo Coventry has appointed Madan Rathore as hotel manager and Hugo Correia as head chef at the 101-bedroom venue.

Rathore joined the hotel in April, bringing more than 20 years of hospitality experience to the role. He previously served as general manager at Ramada Encore by Wyndham in Leicester for over six years, and held prior roles with InterContinental Hotels Group and Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport. In his new position, Rathore will oversee all aspects of hotel operations.

Correia meanwhile returns to the venue after working at other hospitality sites, including positions as head chef at Weston Hall Hotel and senior sous chef with Niche and Bespoke. He previously worked as a sous chef at Hotel Indigo Coventry.

He will now lead the culinary team, managing menu development and kitchen operations at the hotel’s Cogs Bar and Kitchen.

The boutique hotel, located at Friargate, Coventry, opened in January 2024 following the completion of a multi-million-pound development project.

Cluster general manager, Samantha Dunion, said: “We are delighted to welcome Madan and Hugo to Hotel Indigo Coventry. Madan’s extensive experience, leadership skills, and customer-focused approach make him an excellent addition to the team. We are confident that his expertise will help drive the continued success of the hotel and further enhance the guest experience

“We are also thrilled to welcome Hugo back to Hotel Indigo Coventry as head chef. Having previously been a valued member of the team, he understands the culture and standards of the hotel and brings with him significant experience gained across a variety of hospitality environments. His creativity, leadership, and passion for exceptional food make him the ideal person to lead our kitchen team into the future.”
