L+R Hotels has announced the appointment of Amrita Makkar as its new director of commercial strategy.

Makkar has nearly 20 years’ experience in revenue management and commercial leadership and has previously led the UK launches of Principal Hotels, Standard Hotels and Virgin Hotels

In her new role she will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies across L+R’s global portfolio.

Makkar’s appointment comes alongside that of Philip D’Antoni, who has been named director of sales for North America.

D’Antoni, based in New York, brings more than two decades of luxury hospitality experience.

He joins from Edition Hotels, where he played a key role in shaping the brand’s global sales strategy.

L+R Hotels said: These appointments build on our recent commercial team expansion, which includes key hires across revenue, sales, operations, and brand communications.

“Together, we’re building world-class commercial excellence to drive performance, innovation, and market leadership across our portfolio. Welcome to the team, Amrita and Philip. Here’s to the next chapter of growth.”
